    Many congratulations to all involved.

There remains only the introduction of a direct flight connection between the UK and St Helena.

    Are charter-flights beíng considered?

Patrick, Atlantic Star Airlines are working on this. The flights would require at least one fuel stop due to the distance and the limited length of the St Helena runway. They were considering a 757 at one point but I don’t think even these could do it non stop in standard config.

Congratulations to all on the Airlink flight. Perhaps a service could be started from St. Helena to the Falkland Islands and then on to southern Chile.

Is there really air transport demand for a service SHEL-Falklands?
Which airline could come in question ?
What is the distance SHEL-Port Stanley?
What about rotor winds on Falklands ? Is it the same as shear winds on SHL ?

    with best regards

Great!! Gone are all the gloom and doom of a shelved airport and waste of money.

Hope to return one day. I left Saint Helena with a heavy heart. The Saints quickly become your family.

Congratulations again Basil Read and also all the Saints that helped to bring this to happen.
