ON 8TH DECEMBER 2008, THE UK GOVERNMENT STUNNED ST HELENA BY ANNOUNCING A ‘PAUSE’ IN THE AIRPORT NEGOTIATIONS, JUST DAYS BEFORE THE CONTRACT WAS DUE TO BE SIGNED.
